    Subregion
    Southern & Eastern Africa is seeking to hire a Senior Business Developer
    with a dedicated focus on the Tanzanian and Eastern Africa market. As an
    individual contributor, you are versatile, creative and with the ability to
    work in a fast, remote, lean and agile way; you’ll be an integral part of our
    team during a challenging energy transformation period. This function will
    focus on developing opportunities across the entire Energy value chain through
    an in-depth understanding of the decision-making processes and the access to
    private and public key decision makers


    How
    You’ll Make an Impact

     

    • Establish full market
      transparency on energy and industry landscape and stakeholders in countries
      under your responsibility (primary focus Tanzania).
    • Understanding of SE
      portfolio and establishing go-to-market strategy for the energy and industry
      sectors, in full alignment with the Business Areas.
    • Proactively
      identifying, driving and developing new opportunities in areas of interest in
      alignment with the Business Areas for the short/mid-/long term
    • Develop new growth
      areas and establish new customer segments to increase the business
      opportunities and pipeline of SE in Tanzania and Eastern Africa.
    • Position SE as partner
      of choice in your market through early engagement of key stakeholders and
      become the reference person for energy infrastructure projects.
    • Develop relationships
      with key partners (EPC’s, developers, IPP’s, grid and power utilities).
    • Ensure customer
      satisfaction along the whole sales, execution and operation phases.
    • Responsible to
      implement the relevant Sales activities in the different stages, as defined by
      the Go-To-Market and by the Region: conduct PM05 and PM10, drive lead
      management and opportunity development, handover to Business Areas, follow up
      with customers until success.
    • Proactively drive SE
      Business Development objectives in Tanzania, leading by example and promoting
      our values.
    • Be accountable and
      responsible to ensure the respect of compliance at all stages of your projects.
    • Collaborate with the
      other functions in the Business Development team, within the HUB Middle East
      & Africa and within the different Business Areas.
    • Provide executive
      briefings to Hub Africa management team on key projects and customers.
    • Tracking all
      opportunities and maintain them up to date in the SE CRM Tool.


    What You
    Bring 

    • 10+ years of direct
      experience in the Tanzania sectors of energy, oil, gas or grid transmission
      system with a strong Sales and Business Development background, incl. customer
      engagement on senior and executive level.
    • Solid network within
      the Tanzanian energy projects main stakeholders and decision makers: Ministry
      of Energy, Ministry of Finance, regulatory agencies, national utility
      companies, national oil companies, project developers, international energy
      companies (private sector), local contractors, financial institutes, investment
      banksas well as within major local industries (sugar, cement, pulp & paper,
      wood, food).
    • Experience in engaging
      directly with energy utilities, ministries and government in general.
    • Deep understanding of
      the Tanzania and East Africa energy landscape.
    • Having worked for an
      international company or studied abroad is a strong advantage.
    • Master’s degree in
      engineering or business/economics with a focus on Energy, Oil&Gas or Grid
      Systems business.
    • Understanding the
      concepts of project finance structuring.
    • Experience in the
      calculation of business cases, investment decisions and being familiar with
      CAPEX and OPEX concepts.
    • Excellent networking
      and relationship building skills with an existing established network within
      the energy sector and/or industry.
    • Individual contributor
      with a high level of autonomy: ability to work efficiently and pro-actively
      within a virtual international team and management reporting.
    • High level of integrity
      and strict adherence to Siemens Energy compliance policies.
    • Superb team qualities:
      you should be versatile, creative, lean, agile, fast and will pro-actively get
      into the details and work in a hands-on way.
    • Conceptual problem
      solver and strategic approach combined with hands-on mentality; ability to
      define tangible concepts and business cases which take risks and feasibility of
      the solutions into account.
    • Passion for energy.
    • Proficient use of
      Microsoft Office tools (Power Point, Word, Excel,…) to prepare presentations,
      executive briefings, official letters, business case calculations,…
    • Proficient in English
      and Swahili languages.
    • Ready to travel
      regularly within the Southern & Eastern Africa region and internationally.
