The opportunity
We’re looking for a skilled Specialist Technician – Digital Reprographics to join our Digital Print technical team at London College of Communication (LCC).
This role demands a high level of specialist skills to work within our technical team, supporting courses across the Design, Screen and Media schools.
You’ll be required to operate the press from day one without undertaking extensive training. Day-to-day duties will include maintaining printers, logging and printing student work and assisting students on a one-to-one basis, solving specific formatting issues and assisting with creative output. You’ll also be expected to lead student inductions and workshops, focusing on image reproduction and design software.
LCC is enjoying significant growth and transformation as we prepare to move to our new cutting-edge London campus in 2027 and you’ll play an important role in helping to influence and shape its development.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operating and managing commercial printing equipment independently.
- Collaborating with staff, students, and internal teams to ensure timely, high-quality print projects.
- Using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) to prepare and edit print materials.
- Troubleshooting and resolving print issues quickly to maintain tight deadlines.
- Providing excellent customer service and/or student experience in a dynamic, high-pressure, education setting.
About you
You’ll ideally have an Art and Design degree level qualification. A postgraduate certificate in Academic Practice in Art, Design and Communication is also desirable.
You’ll need considerable experience of operating a Xerox V180/V280 Digital Press (or similar) in a customer facing commercial or education environment.
You’ll have considerable experience of working with printing equipment and will have worked extensively in the reprographics and print industry.

You’ll also need the following:
- Considerable experience as a print technician in a customer-facing or education environment.
- Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- PGCert or equivalent (desirable).
