    Are you passionate about driving the energy transition and modernising electricity and gas networks and systems? We are seeking a motivated and expert Team Lead to join the Innovation Center Berlin and lead the Resilient Energy Grids team, developing solutions and technologies for the networks of the future.
    Reporting to the Head of Technology Development, this position will be responsible for leading a team of world-class engineers to address industry and customer needs in the areas of gird technologies. The team brings innovative solutions to market by proactively understanding our customer needs and developing the best solutions in areas such as DC technologies, first-of-a-kind asset developments, sustainability innovations, modelling and simulation and novel software solutions. In addition, this position will coordinate new development activities, including funding proposals, customer meetings, and co-creation activities across the company on emerging technologies that help our customers drive toward their decarbonization goals as well as engage with the other 3 innovation centers globally, and with the innovation management team, to accelerate the execution and implementation of innovations effectively and efficiently.
    How You’ll Make an Impact 
    • Lead, steer and motivate a growing team of 7 direct reports and large number of indirect reports and external resources in academia and supplier organisations
    • Align closely with the other team leads within the innovation center and across the global Innovation Centers
    • Engage with customers, partners and funding bodies, to leverage internal resources with external support
    • Act as the focal point between the Innovation Center Berlin and the Business Area of Grid Technologies
    • Responsibility for yearly resource planning activities for the team and driving a high-performance culture including steering via defined KPI’s
    What You Bring
    • Educational Background: PhD and University Degree in an engineering-related subject
    • Professional Experience: +15 years of experience in the electricity transmission and distribution business developing and project managing R&D technologies, taking them from an idea to a commercial product or solution and a proven track record in a leadership role
    • Proven track record of obtaining external funding from governments or through customer engagements. Demonstrable international reputation in your area of expertise
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential in both English and German (verbal and written)
    • Additional Skills: Project management experience and experience working in multicultural environments and multi-location projects would be advantageous
