    Trainee Electrical Design Engineer
    Location: Motherwell
    Role Overview: As a Trainee Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in assisting with the electrical design and procurement of specialised packages.
    Key Responsibilities:As a Trainee Engineer, you will support the Engineering Team in delivering the following:

    • Design LV Electrical Distribution Systems: Collaborate with engineers to create effective designs.
    • Documentation Creation: Assist in developing essential documents, including:
      • Specifications & Datasheets
      • Motor Control Centres (MCC)
      • LV Switchgear
      • UPS & DC Charger Systems
      • Lighting & Small Power Systems
      • Control & Marshalling Panels
      • SCADA/DCS Systems
      • Instrumentation
      • Calculations & Schedules (e.g., LV Cable, Load, IO, Earthing, Protection Coordination, Lighting)
    • Drawings Preparation: Contribute to the creation of various diagrams, including:
      • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
      • Block Connection Diagrams (BCD)
      • Termination & Interlocking Diagrams
      • Earthing Layouts
      • General Arrangements (GA)
      • Instrument Hook-Ups and Loop Drawings
    • Compliance Review: Check manufacturer documentation for electrical compliance with project specifications.
    • Relationship Development:
      Build and maintain connections with technical consultants and suppliers.

    Ideal Candidate Profile:We are looking for someone who possesses:

    • A strong focus on collaboration and relationship-building with designers and project teams to deliver cost-effective design solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey ideas clearly.
    • A mindset geared towards innovation and continuous improvement in design practices.
    • Proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office; familiarity with analytical software (e.g., AMTECH, SKM, ERACS) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of relevant codes of practice and regulatory materials.
    • Experience across diverse industries, such as Petrochemical, Power Generation, and Nuclear.
    • Awareness of HVAC systems, SCADA, and communication networks.
    • Familiarity with 3D design software like Revit and Navisworks.
