Valve Repair Specialist (Welding Path) – (F-S 3×12 5.30pm to 6.00am)

    Primary duties for this position include but are not limited to disassembly, cleaning, repair, assembly, blasting, and testing of nuclear and fossil valves (some valves are contaminated). The machining path requires the person awarded this job to run radial drills, small lathes, horizontal boring mills, and vertical boring mills. Sets up, adjusts, and operates various manual machines according to repair/assembly needs. Could perform other duties such as Actuator assembly, disassembly and testing, dust blasting and inspection work.

    • Required to lift / move 50lbs of materials
    • Interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufactures specifications, etc., and figures out necessary tools to perform required machining operations
    • Using material handling devices (Jib & B/C cranes and forklifts), loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operator.
    • Follows Siemens established procedures to operate machinery and equipment.

    What You Bring

    • Minimum education required: High School diploma or GED
    • Must possess 3 years of welding experience (ability to read and understand program) in welding.
    • Currently certified or willing to obtain fork truck/crane license.
    • Manual machining experience is necessary.
    • Ability to: use shop math, follow complex drawings, perform complex metrology
    • Must be capable of wearing a respirator, and must pass a Process Operator Competency Test.
    • Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status required
