How you can help
This role will help to promote smoking cessation support inside and outside the service, working collaboratively with the team.
The role can include:
- Supporting the running of the smoking cessation clinic, such as booking appointments, any correspondence, and answering enquiries from clients.
- Liaising with professionals and community groups to promote the service and encourage them to refer people for support.
- Helping to maintain appropriate records so we can track and meet key goals.
- Supporting community engagement and awareness events across the borough.
Volunteer smoking cessation advisors also have the opportunity to shadow and observe other professionals delivering this type of healthcare and will be supported to interact with people seeking help. They can also attend training to enable them to gain experience as a qualified smoking cessation advisor.
