Transformation of Industry
A Snapshot of Your Day
The selected candidate will review blueprints and technical
drawings to understand the project requirements, prepare and set up the welding
equipment, ensuring all tools are in proper working conditions to perform the
job. Throughout the day, various welding techniques will be applied, frequently
inspecting the work to ensure it meets quality standards and accomplishing
welding related tasks that are designated to the Welder. Safety is a constant
priority, so you will have to follow strict protocols to prevent incidents.
How You’ll Make an Impact
·
Fabrication and Assembly
: Using various welding techniques
(e.g., MIG, TIG, arc welding) to fabricate and assemble structures, components,
and products according to blueprints and specifications.
·
Inspection and Quality Control
: Ensure quality
standards and specifications are met by identifying and repairing defects or
inconsistencies to maintain the integrity and quality requirements of the final
products.
·
Maintenance and Repair
: Support the Repair business by
performing repair work on existing metal parts and equipment, ensuring their
continued functionality and safety. This includes tasks such as fixing cracks,
reinforcing weak points, and replacing worn-out parts.
·
Safety Compliance
: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to
prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal
protective equipment (PPE), maintaining a clean and organized work environment,
and following proper welding procedures (WPSs).
What You Bring
·
Education:
Must have a High
School Diploma or GED that can be certified.
·
Experience
: Minimum of 2 years of
hands-on experience in welding is required; specifically, in TIG (Tungsten
Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and plasma welding techniques, including
setting up and adjusting welding machines, selecting appropriate welding rods
and materials, and performing precise welds is preferred.
·
Blueprint Reading
: Must have the ability
to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to
understand welding requirements and specifications.
·
Material Knowledge
: Familiarity with
different types of metals and alloys, including their properties and how they
react to various welding processes.
·
Safety Awareness
: Strong understanding of
welding safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal
protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) standards.
· Emergency Stop Valves
: Knowledge of
emergency stop valves and their operation is a plus, as it enhances the
welder’s ability to ensure safety and respond effectively to emergency
situations.
