One of the most exciting, new and up-and-coming pop artists, Lo Lauren drops her brand-new single Born To Run today (listen here).
After an unforgettable 2024, from Hollywood recognition to stadium performances, Lo is kickstarting 2025 with yet another anthem-in-waiting. Packed with bold, infectious melodies and synth driven, adrenaline-pumping production, her self-titled ‘glitter pop’ is quickly becoming unmistakably Lo Lauren. Speaking from the heart, Born To Run is Lo’s most raw and brutally honest yet, exploring her dedication to her dream of making it as a music artist and letting that take priority above all else, no matter the cost. With Born To Run, we are introduced to a new side of Lo; fearless, cut-throat and self-assured, further cementing herself as the UK’s next breakout artist.
Showing no signs of slowing down, Lo has just announced her highly-anticipated EP Wonderlust, dropping on 11th April; a project embracing the highs and lows, twist and turns, the rollercoaster of being in your 20s.
Drawing inspiration from the pop icons of the 2010s that soundtracked her teens and blending it with her own hook-driven songwriting, Lo’s music is a melting pot of nostalgic, ambitious and unapologetic pop poised to stand the test of time. The 5-track EP features the previously released Before The Kiss, Wonder and new songs Born To Run, Rose & Jack and Would It Be So Bad?. The debut track Wonder picked up attention from the likes of YouTube who put Lo on the cover of their ‘Pop Fresh’ playlist, and BBC Radio 1 where it was chosen as a ‘Future Bop’ by Mollie King. The second single Before The Kiss was featured in multiple Spotify playlists including New Music Friday and the cover of ‘Fresh Finds Pop’, which led to the track being discovered by Hollywood director Jordan Weiss, who immediately asked for the song to be featured in the movie trailer for her new film ‘Sweethearts’ which is out on HBO Max. Lo’s dedicated and meticulous approach to her craft is undeniable, even spending three months learning her latest single entirely backwards for a reverse video, which you can check out here.
Lo wrote Born To Run in Copenhagen alongside regular collaborators Carys Selvey, Andreas Mikkelsen and Marco Twellman, with production by slowmo and andysocialclub. The track was mixed by world renowned Jeremy Wheatley and mastered by Harrison Tate at The Hit Lab.
Lo explains of her new single, “Wanting to be an artist in the music industry means making that your sole focus over absolutely everything and all kinds of relationships, be it friends, family or love interests. This song is about my feelings of ambition, lack of want to settle and constant battle of prioritising ‘real life’ vs my dreams. It’s so hard and pretty savage! But it’s also just the reality and the sacrifices that come with wanting the things I do, soz.”
Lo Lauren has announced her first showcase of the year at Paper Dress Vintage on Tuesday 18th February. Tickets are on sale now, here. Earlier this month, Lo supported American pop artist Mercer Henderson, at a sold out The Grace in London, and last year saw the Kent-born artist perform her song Wonder on CBBC Saturday Mash Up. She has previously supported Rudimental, 220 Kid and played to 25,000 at The Hundred cricket event, alongside Cat Burns, Nell Mescal and Zara Larsson.
The hotly-tipped rising star has also announced her new club ‘GLO’, a monthly event where she will be meeting fans up and down the country for one-of-a-kind, intimate performances and crafting clubs. Fans have been eagerly trying to get their hands on Lo’s special, personalised hairclips and accessories and now they have the chance to make their own with her. Each session will be completely different and be a chance for fans to meet Lo, ask anything they like, make something special and see her perform up close and personal.
